Security of Catholic parishes: Archbishop Kutwa alerts Ouattara

The Archbishop of Abidjan, Archbishop Jean-Pierre Kutwa, said he sought "substantial measures" for the safety of churches, following attacks against six parishes, after a hearing Monday with Alassane Ouattara. Catholic religious buildings visibly suffer the effects of chronic insecurity that exists in Abidjan.

Insecurity which is characterized by robberies orchestrated by veterans of Republican Forces of Côte d'Ivoire (FRCI), suddenly discharged without accompanying measures.
