ICC Case", the official reaction of the IPF.

ICC Case", the official reaction of the I.PF
Press Release

In a dispatch dated October 3, 2011, Agence France Presse (AFP) tells us that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) was authorized by the senior international court, upon request, to open "an investigation into the alleged crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court allegedly committed in Côte d'Ivoire since November 28, 2010. "
The management of the IPF, which was informed by the press, welcomes the decision of the Trial Chamber III of the ICC decision on September 30. This decision, which is not an indictment against one or more specific persons, entails.
our membership. In fact, it meets our concerns on two issues that seem fundamental to a fair and impartial justice that we call our best wishes in this matter. They are:
1. The inclusion of crimes against humanity allegedly committed during what was called post-election crisis, by all forces, namely:
- The Armed Forces of Forces Nouvelles (FAFN) renamed Republican Forces of Côte d'Ivoire (FRCI) in post-election crisis;
- The
UN and French "impartial" forces (Licorne and UNOCI);
- The regular forces of Côte d'Ivoire, former SDF (Forces for Defence and Security).

2. The extension of the same survey period from 2002 to 2010 period for which the Trial Chamber III has also asked the Prosecutor to "provide additional information at its disposal to crimes that could potentially meet the jurisdiction of the ICC. "

These provisions of the decision of the high international court are likely to shed light on all the facts  that can be classified as crimes against humanity allegedly committed in Côte d'Ivoire since the failed coup d'état against the regime of President Laurent Gbagbo, on the night of 18 to 19 September 2002 to date. They augur well for a fair, just and impartial trtial. This is the place to note that the IPF remains committed to strengthening the rule of law, protecting the dignity of the human person.

President Laurent Gbagbo,
whom this political party has led to the head of the Ivory Coast, through democratic polls in 2000, has continued to work for the promotion of the rule of the of law of the stste during his tenure. This vision was reflected in the creation of the National Commission on Human Rights composed of all shades of social, political and religious.

The IPF regrets, therefore, that despite the presumption of innocence - a fundamental and universal right which he enjoys - like any citizen of the world, we want to have to devote President Laurent Gbagbo to public obloquy, by presenting  him as the target of criminal investigations that will soon open.

One may say that  he is the cause of this deadly crisis, because he refused to cede power, after the last presidential election. In doing so, and unfortunately we forget too easily that the Ivory Coast is a state of law abiding in which the final outcome of the presidential election is declared in accordance with applicable law, by the only competent court, the Constitutional Council. The high national court having invested and proclaimed President Laurent Gbagbo winner on 4 December 2010, he did not return to it to challenge the judicial decision.

Under these conditions, the IPF keeps itself already willing to contribute to the proper conduct of investigations for the determination of the truth. It also calls on Ivorians in general and its supporters in particular, be prepared and mobilized to make available to the ICC investigators all evidence that could help shed light on the alleged facts.
