Subject: African Common Position against the reelection of Mr. Ban Ki-Moon
as Secretary General of the United Nations.

Excellency,

The mandate of Mr. Ban Ki-moon expires December 31 of this year.
We have learned through the press, that Mr. Ban Ki-Moon wants to run for a second term
five years as Secretary General of the United Nations.

You are one of the Witnesses whose names will be inscribed in golden letters in the annals of history of
Africa for helplessly having watching the dramas experienced by African people in Côte
d'Ivoire and Libya, despite all efforts to find a peaceful solution in these two
conflicts.

Several factors involved show how bad the role of the Secretary General of UN
United with his team, accumulating errors of appreciation, encouragement and participation in conflict, and
mismanagement of resources of the Organization; leaving destruction in their wake, the
dismantling of families, serious violations of human rights, war crimes and
genocide, division and hatred between peoples who have lived and forged links from
generations.

By his action, the Secretary-General created the subjective conditions for the marginalization of the African Union
settlement in the two conflicts, however, internal to Africa. He has exposed the Africa Union
and Africans to humiliation.

As an African, we write this to request your high attention for a
African Common Position against the reelection of Mr. Ban Ki-Moon as Secretary General of
United Nations.

To facilitate consultations in regard to his succession, may we be permitted to suggest the application
of Mr. Lula Inacio da Silva, former President of Brazil, whoseis political and diplomatic activism does not need to be
demonstrated.

In the hope that our letter will find your membership, please accept, Mr.
President of the African Union, our fraternal greetings.
Highest consideration.

Dr. Oec. Ngingilu J. Daves
Cc: His Excellency Mr. Noel Nelson Messone
